Professor: Chit Yee Ng | Group | Partner: Darwin Urgiles | Barcelona, Spain | 2023
The Multicultural Living project in Barcelona, Spain, stands as a beacon of innovation in the realm of long-term tourist accommodation. Embracing a modular housing approach, where four individuals cohabit a space consisting of four rooms and shared living areas, the project embodies a transformative vision of community and cultural exchange. Through this design, the aim is to transcend mere physical spaces, instead fostering vibrant ecosystems where residents from around the globe converge to share their unique perspectives, traditions, and aspirations. Each module is meticulously crafted to balance privacy and communal living, offering residents the opportunity to forge deep connections, engage in cross-cultural dialogue, and cultivate lasting friendships. By nurturing a sense of belonging and mutual support, the Multicultural Living project not only enriches the lives of its residents but also contributes to the cultural vibrancy and diversity of Barcelona, transforming the city into a global nexus of shared experiences, collective growth, Unique traditions, and aspirations.
